Scientist, Cell-based Assays

Description
We are seeking an exceptional researcher for a Cell-based Assay Scientist position to play a critical role in supporting our basic science and drug discovery efforts. In this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate will identify, develop, and perform cell- and organoid-based assays to study the molecular mechanisms of intestinal physiology and inflammation. Our ideal applicant is creative and curious, resilient in their pursuit of high-risk-high-reward research, and has an outstanding track record of success evidenced by high-quality publications in relevant leading journals.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute target validation and proprietary compound library screening studies for drug discovery and development
- Develop, perform, and maintain novel cell- and organoid-based screening assays, establishing cell lines when necessary
- Identify and integrate emerging technologies into our in-house assay capabilities
- Maintain a detailed and organized laboratory notebook
- Manage and train junior researchers on established protocols and analyses
- Analyze experimental data and communicate results in both written and verbal formats (e.g., scientific publications, scientific conferences, internal meetings)
Requirements
- PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, or related field. Candidates with a BS/MS with 6+ years of relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Extensive hands-on experience leading hypothesis-driven cell- and organoid-based studies
- Exceptional attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong team player who is also comfortable working independently
